When it comes to spiritually awakening your soul one of the best things to do is to practice mindfulness, which can sound a little perplexing if you don’t know where to start. Basically, try to be conscious of how you feel and what you do in your life. Pay attention to your feelings always!

Meditation is a centuries-old practice that is all about connecting to ourselves and connecting to the earth; taking a moment to stop and just to be at one with yourself in that present moment. It opens your spirituality and your soul as you allow yourself to tune in with your inner being.

Positive affirmations are such an easy way to spiritually awaken your soul. Try waking up and looking in the mirror and telling yourself three positive things about yourself. It can be ‘I look beautiful today’ or ‘I am strong’ or ‘I am loved’…whatever you feel or want to affirm!

A sure way to awaken your soul spiritually is to get in touch with nature and truly immerse yourself in nature on a regular basis. Nature is how we feel truly connected to the earth. As beings of the earth if we want to awaken our own soul the best way to do this is through our natural connections.

Journaling allows us to get our thoughts and feelings down onto paper which helps free up our mind. When something is written out in front of us it is much easier to decipher and to process without these thoughts swirling around in your mind and causing you mental stress!

Spiritually awakening the soul is all linked with being at peace. To be truly at peace we have to learn to let things go, only this way can your soul feel free. Otherwise, grudges and anger eat away at us. So no matter how hard it may be, try to forgive for your own sake.

The world is so full of noise, even our heads are so full of noise that it is hard to really get a moment of peace where you can just simply ‘be’; sitting with your own thoughts in silence. You’ll notice after engaging with different people that you probably feel much more fulfilled or at peace after spending time with like-minded people. So fill your interactive time and social times with like-minded people so that you really enjoy and inspire one another.

Dreams aren’t just random, they are our subconscious mind sending us messages or allowing repressed thoughts to come to the surface. We should pay attention to them in order to listen to that part of ourselves that we have shut away, either purposefully or accidentally.

You may have heard about listening to your inner child or working on your inner child to heal past trauma from childhood. Listening to our inner child helps us to connect with our true selves, which may have deviated over time from what we truly want or truly feel! Our inner child is a more accurate representation of our soul.

We have entered a period in time where consumption is all around us. As soon as we turn on the TV or our phones we are being encouraged to consume. Overconsumption is so ingrained in us now, but it brings neither satisfaction nor peace. In fact, living mindfully is far better for the soul.

Think about how you feel when you’re in your own bubble doing something that you love, just because you love it. It’s a very satisfying feeling of happiness and contentment. This is definitely something we should all do more of. Do the things you really want to do!
