You’ve heard of press-on nails, but have you heard of press-on lashes!? I was so excited to try the Kiss imPRESS Press-On Falsies as soon as I heard about them— these are false lashes that can stay in place up to 24 hours with no glue needed. What?! HOW!?
The kits range from $13 to $20 depending on whether you’re buying the full starter kit, which comes with the applicator tool, or just the lash cluster refills. There are several styles available from Natural to Voluminous, with 20-30 clusters per pack depending on which one you pick up. I find 2-3 clusters per eye to work best for me, but your mileage may vary. The packs come with two different lengths of clusters to achieve a tapered effect, if preferred.
The press-on lash clusters already have a pre-bond technology built into the band to hold them in place up against your natural lashes without the use of glue. The application process was a small learning curve since I’ve never applied anything under my lashes before, but I quickly got the hang of it.
Using the included tool, I grabbed the cluster by the middle of the lash (being careful to avoid the sticky bond strips) and placed it as close to the base of my natural lashes as possible without going onto the waterline.
Then, I used the tool to squeeze my natural lashes and the cluster together. Just like a press-on nail, you want to apply pressure to really adhere the lash in place. I repeat with 2-3 more lash clusters, making sure I don’t overlap them.
Once the press-on lashes are bonded, they’re extremely comfortable. They’re more lightweight than a traditional band lash, and of course you don’t have the glue layer pulling on the skin. What I love most about these though, is the elevated look you get without having a visible band on top of your lash line. When your eyes are closed, all you see is your natural lashes. It’s a much cleaner look that mimics lash extensions.
The brand claims these can last up to 24 hours… and I’m challenging that. I think they can last longer! I wore these for 25 hours and they were still very securely in place after working out, washing my face a few times, showering, and sleeping. I’ve even seen reviews from customers saying they’re getting 5+ days of wear out of them!
If you choose to extend their wear past a day— at your own risk of course— I would suggest keeping other eye makeup away from the area, as you won’t be able to properly cleanse up against the lashes during wear. I was careful when washing my face to keep my cleansing balm away from the eye area, using a washcloth to remove product instead of rinsing my face in water. You can check out my technique in the video at the top of the page.
I don’t know how they did it, but the bond on these glue-free lashes seems almost… stronger than glue. Even after sleeping, they didn’t budge, slip or start peeling at the corners. On top of that, they stayed looking curled and fluttery even after sleeping on my stomach. I was worried my super straight lashes would weigh them down, but they still looked lifted in the morning.
With that said, they’re relatively simple to remove without damaging your natural lashes. Again, you can see me figuring it out in the video, but I essentially grabbed on to the base of the cluster with my nail, then peeled upward. Once I got the hang of it, I could pop them off quickly without any lash loss. They also didn’t leave any residue behind on my lid or lashes.
I think the imPRESS Press-On Falsies are for you if:
- You struggle with lining up a traditional strip lash
- You struggle or don’t like dealing with lash glue
- You think strip lash bands look or feel heavy on your lid
- You have hooded lids and strip lashes are difficult to apply or uncomfortable
- You like the cleaner look
I am officially a fan of these, and will absolutely rely on them for things like special occasions, other all-day-wear scenarios, and even maybe overnight/weekend wear for things like girl’s trips. These are definitely the best thing to happen to the false lash universe.
